Conveyor Components

Idlers & Belt Tracking

Idlers are the foundation of any belt conveyor — they support the belt and the load while keeping the system aligned and reducing wear. A&K machines carrying idlers, return idlers, impact idlers, and training idlers to match your conveyor's load rating, belt width, and frame spacing. Belt tracking problems cost time and material — we also supply belt tracking rollers and trainers designed to self-correct misalignment before damage occurs.

Carrying Idlers

Flat, troughed (20°, 35°, 45°), and deep trough configurations. Available in standard and heavy-duty roll diameters with sealed or greaseable bearings.

Return Idlers

Flat and V-return rollers to support the empty belt on the return run. Rubber disc and spiral return configurations to prevent material carry-back.

Belt Training Idlers

Self-aligning trainers for the carrying and return strands. Corrects belt drift before it causes edge damage or spillage.

Conveyor Components

Gearbox Shafts

Gearbox shafts transmit torque from the drive unit to the conveyor head pulley — and when they fail, everything stops. A&K machines replacement gearbox shafts from solid bar stock in carbon steel, alloy steel, or stainless. We work from your worn shaft or from the gearbox dimensions directly. Keyways, splines, threads, and custom features machined to exact spec.

Input & Output Shafts

Solid and hollow output shafts for standard and custom gearbox configurations. Machined to match existing drive and driven component interfaces.

Keyed & Splined Shafts

Any standard keyway size, plus custom spline profiles. Precise fit to avoid fretting and premature wear at the pulley hub interface.

Material & Heat Treatment

Standard 1045, 4140, and 17-4 PH stainless. Induction hardening, case hardening, and nitriding available for extended service life.

Pulleys & Accessories

Conveyor pulleys are critical drive and directional components. A&K fabricates and machines a full range of conveyor pulleys — from standard head and tail pulleys to specialty snub and takeup configurations. We also machine the accessory components that make your pulley system work: locking elements, end discs, and lagging surfaces.

Static End Rollers

Fixed-end return and tail rollers. Carbon steel or stainless, with sealed bearings for low-maintenance service in dirty or wet environments.

Drive Rollers

Motorized and driven head pulleys with lagging options: bare steel, rubber, ceramic, and polyurethane for various belt and load conditions.

Self-Leveling Foot Pads

Adjustable leveling feet for conveyor stands and frames. Prevents rocking on uneven floors and simplifies belt alignment at installation.

Shafting

Pulley shafts, idler shafts, and custom transmission shafting in any length or diameter. Machined from solid, not welded, for maximum strength and concentricity.
